A Gay Day (or a Pay Day)

Good luck to anyone who wants to march, but why does the NHS need to send their Paramedics ? The whole point of the march (I think) is that the participants want to be there, otherwise what is the point?
I am waiting for someone to decide that muslims are under represented on the march. Let's see someone try and pay them to go...

  1. Are these paramedics on duty or just there to show off the uniform?

If on duty, then to pay them to be there ias normal. With the police NO football match would be policed if it were not for overtime.

If it for the uniform, there are plenty of fancy dress hire shops around itf that kind of thing turns them on. The tax payer should not be held liable.

  2. I reread The Argus..
They can attend on duty or they will be paid to attend off duty.

“They will also be there as a response crew. They are all fully trained paramedics, so if anything happens they will be able to treat anyone while they are there.”

As part of the ambulance service’s campaign to improve stroke survival rates, crews working at Brighton Pride will also be talking to the public about how to spot a stroke and what help to offer.(If anyone can be bothered to listen)

Sussex Police and West and East Sussex Fire and rescue services also plan to attend the march. They were unable to reveal if their staff members were being paid extra.
